Great day today
Hello people. Its been a fantastic day for me. I discovered Limewire (I had downloaded the application long way back, but was not sure about downloading through it) and whew! what a great insight I had today on its capabilities. As you may know, I love western classical music. I was just pottering around (not Harry) and was trawling the net for some music, when I tried Limewire; And Boy! It was an absolute blast! I downloaded the following:
Mozart : Lachrymosa from Requiem
Tchaikovsky: The waltz of the flowers from the Nutcracker Suite
Beethoven: Symphony No. 9
Strauss: Blue Danube Waltz
Holst: The Planets (Movement Mercury is playing while I type this)
My mind boggles with all the possibilities! (Thre are lot of things under the videos category..;p)
You might just wonder whats the big deal all about. Well its this: all of the above are/ will not be available here in India. And if do want to get my hands on them, its going to cost a fortune. So thanks to Limewire, I got them for nothing! Hooray!
Im so happy today!

Unusual Deaths
Yesterday, after blogging, while stumbling, I came upon an interesting article about unusual deaths (sorry for the macabre theme, but I thought I had to share it). Here are a few of them:
Aeschylus,a Greek playwright, was killed when an eagle dropped a live tortoise on him, mistaking his bald head for a stone. The tortoise survived!
Chrysippus, a Greek stoic philosopher, is believed to have died of laughter after watching his drunk donkey attempt to eat figs.
Jennifer Strange, a 28-year-old woman from Sacramento, died of water intoxication while trying to win a Wii console in a KDND 107.9 "The End" radio station's "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" contest, which involved drinking large quantities of water without urinating.
Gerald Mellin, a U.K. businessman, committed suicide by tying one end of a rope around his neck and the other to a tree. He then hopped into his Aston Martin DB7 and drove down a main road in Swansea until the rope decapitated him. He supposedly did this as an act of revenge against his ex-wife for leaving him.
Too bad isnt it?
This blogs made me sad. and darn it, i cant get rid of this underline....grrrrr

Writers Block
Why is it always so difficult for me to blog? I just cant seem to find the subject or any topic to blog on....but I have decided that I shall blog on irrespective of what ever block I have. I know I have it in me to write, win the Man Booker prize in 2013, the Nobel in 2028, and whatever higher accolades there may be in 2050...(I can hear you fans clapping and cheering, thanks).
I have made the following decisions:
1. I shall blog everyday. At least 1 line will be written.
2. Its done for today
3. Tomorrows topic will be decided tomorrow
4. I am already feeling sleepy
5. I have to lift this writers block some how.
7. I missed No. 6 (I dont remember what it is)
8. Thats enough for today.
CRAP. (but the juices are starting to flow, i reckon)
*bows and exits*

Not Again!
Whew! its been a hectic day today. Thats something so very uncommon in my life. I tend to take things slow, slower and slowest... and as a matter of fact, i took a quiz to find out which of the seven deadly sins is bugging me down (sorry i forget the link or where i came across the website) about a couple of weeks back, and bingo... (the test is true!) the result was: No. 1 :sloth. Yep. Sloth it is. followed by No 2: lust. (*sigh* i thought it was the other way around).
(Im actually a three toed sloth in human form). I procrastinate always. Actually I wanted to do this blog a couple of weeks later, but I had to get things off my mind because Seven Deadly Sin No 2 cropped up in a totally amazing way today in my life!
Well to tell it all, here goes: My wife is pregnant. After 8 years. My elder daughter is 14 and my younger one is 8. And now shes pregnant.
We just discovered this today morning using a home pregnancy test kit.
Wifey's reaction is: "Im gonna bobbit you". Shes very angry
My reaction: *sheepishly* he he he.. Im sorry...but..(what else can I say?)
Daughters reaction: (I dont know how they came to know about it) we dont want one more! (the little braggarts, i thought they would welcome it.. its gonna be their live barbie and pet, no offense meant, they love my sisters son who is just 2, so why not a kid sister or a kid brother, all of their own?)
so..it was running from hospital to scanning centre to hospital back again to check the status of the baby.
The final conclusion is : 9 weeks 6 days gestation.
What should I do?
On a personal level, I abhor abortion. its killing a life. Actually my second daughter Varsha was totally unplanned. But I had to put my foot down and get my way. but now its difficult. The time gap is too much and wifey is also not confident about her health. (shes only 34 though).
Im totally confused.
PS: Respecting my wife's feelings, its going to be abort (90%)
